Blog Title | Kitchen Reveal-2.jpg

We’re back for another Aspyn + Parker’s home reveal! And today we’re walking you through the kitchen + dining area with (of course) some before and plenty of after photos!

Since this was not a remodel project, you won’t see any major changes to the space. Instead what you will find are more impactful furniture selections paired with some intentional styling. Because here at Ames Interiors, we understand that it’s the little things that can make the world of a difference! So drum roll please!!

If an all white kitchen is what you’re after, we’ll promise to stand by you! But if your all white kitchen lacks in warmth and contrast, it can sometimes feel quite bland. So we took it upon ourselves to breathe a little more life into this space. Nothing a collection of carefully sourced products can’t fix!

With careers centered on creating content (their home being the setting for many of their photos and videos) it was important to Aspyn that everything looked “finished.” So we found them useful + functional kitchen decor that are just as practical as they are pretty.

The other change we made was with a new selection of barstools. Ultimately, we decided it’d look better to swap them for something with a high back. Doing so really filled the space and gave it the height and dimension it was missing! I also love the contrast these natural wood stools give to the already neutral palette. The result of this mini makeover? A kitchen that feels ready for closeups AND entertaining.

One of the biggest mistakes I see in design is SCALE. Buying the wrong sized furniture can surprisingly leave a negative impact on your space. And Aspyn and Parker’s dining space before, although beautiful, really lacked in scale. Their small table was actually TAKING AWAY from the stunning grandiose windows. Rather than enhancing the impact of panoramic views, it distracted from them. Making them feel smaller than they actually were. So we updated to a larger table and more chairs, which really played to the scale of the room. The windows feel bigger, more impactful. And the furniture in turn, looks more elaborate. It’s a win win, really!

The last detail we wanted to add was this beautiful storage cabinet. Since we really weren’t working with much empty wall space, we opted for something that could be both useful and impactful. The clear glass doors allowed us an opportunity for more beautiful styling moments. And its size (again) played to the scale of the room. Providing more of that wow factor every “after” reveal should embody.
